QlikView Overview

QlikView is a new kind of Business Intelligence platform that’s driving spectacular results for over 15,000 companies across 100 countries.  So simple and intuitive to use, it takes just minutes to learn – and delivers industrial strength power to meet the largest enterprise requirements. QlikView is a single integrated BI platform that covers: reporting; monitoring; dashboards and analysis; combining data extraction (ETL); data storage; an engine for multi-dimensional analysis and process automation; data security; an end-user interface; and multiple platforms (fat client, thin client and web) all in one affordable product.

QlikView’s simplicity lets anyone easily consolidate, search, visualise, and analyse all their data for unprecedented business insight.  Serving up answers in an instant, on screen, without having to wait around for any report. It’s about having 1-click access to visually rich, interactive dashboards to transactional level detail that you can build quickly and modify easily.

Inside Info pioneered QlikView in Australia, launching the product here in 2003 and is the largest and most experienced end-to-end QlikView solutions provider responsible for the majority of enterprise-class deployments locally.

Gets Results

QlikView is the world’s fastest growing BI software (IDC). QlikView is recognised by IDC and customers as having the highest levels of customer satisfaction at 96%, providing a 186% return on investment with a total cost of ownership 53% less than other BI solutions.  In fact, in the recent BI Survey 9, the world’s largest independent survey of BI users, QlikView leads in ease of use, customer loyalty and fast query performance.

Simple, Visual, Interactive

Users want to visualise and interact with all of their information through any dimension in one application. Traditional disk-based tools create a proliferation of cubes and views to support different aspects of the same data leading to confusion, errors, and administrative overhead. QlikView’s visual design elements provide the flexibility to bring multiple viewpoints into one, simplifying the end user experience and accelerating business value.

As a result, IDC found QlikView users report 54% less time accessing information and 51% less time analysing it.

Associative Search Empowers End Users

QlikView allows users to search and interact with their data in the same way they think - associatively. Users can instantly see connections and relationships between data residing in different applications, systems, organisations, and regions, all by themselves.  End users benefit from not being trapped by pre-calculated hierarchical structures because all data is held in-memory and calculations are made when requested and not prior. Since data does not have to be aggregated, users can analyse the entire data volume down to the transaction level. For instance, a car dealership chain could load maintenance data and vehicle lease trade-in history data into the QlikView in-memory solution regardless of where it is and instantly see relationships between maintenance records, lease trade-in timelines and car value, allowing them to predict which customers are likely to trade-in leases, and which customers are most profitable.

QlikView’s Associative Search is powered by patented in-memory architecture.  With QlikView, all your data — from virtually any source — is loaded in memory and available for instant, real-time analysis with a few clicks providing fast query responses (even on extremely large data sets analysed by multiple concurrent users), flexibility, ease-of-use and visually interactive user interface that associative analysis requires.

Fast to Develop, Improving IT Efficiency

QlikView delivers value fast for organisations. According to IDC 44% of 800 QlikView users surveyed around the globe were deployed in 1 month with 77% deployed within 3 months.

QlikView also allows unlimited dimensions and measures to be modified in seconds, giving flexibility to adapt as the business grows.

Changes to data – i.e. incorporating a new table or a new column is simple, and would form part of the normal ETL (Extraction, Transformation and Loading) process, which would then automatically create the necessary association with the old data.

New Data Models, depending on the availability of the data and complexity of the analytical application, could take between 1 and 15 days to develop and deploy into production.  We often find QlikView applications can replace hundreds of reports and cubes, reducing IT support for reporting by up to 90% (IDC).
