QlikView and Your Data

Too many enterprises find themselves hostage to their business applications stack which prevents them from getting to their data in a simple and meaningful way. With purpose-built connectors for some of the most popular applications, such as SAP and Salesforce.com, QlikView eases access and analysis of your business data. QlikView is enabling enterprises across the globe to better leverage their investment in existing business and warehousing assets with intuitive access, comprehensive analytics and sophisticated visualization. The result? Happier, more productive business users. And higher ROI on your entire enterprise stack investment.

Consolidate Disparate Data Sources

QlikView lets you bring together data from a wide variety of sources. And, because QlikView operates entirely in memory, every source performs lightning fast, regardless of the performance of the under system. The QlikView business intelligence (BI) data integration provides:

  • Access to Excel files, flat files and XML documents
  • ODBC and OLEDB access to every relational database
  • Standard interfaces to ERP, CRM, data warehouse and other operational systems
  • The ability to leverage security definitions to drive application and data entitlements for users
  • The ability to incrementally load data, so refreshes are extremely fast
  • Real-time updates from your underlying systems of record without full refreshes

QlikView operates in memory and does not require data to be stored in specific, aggregated, proprietary formats such as cubes. In addition, QlikView automatically detects and manages the associations between your data tables. Thus, loading data into QlikView is as simple as loading individual tables and letting QlikView associate the data.  QlikView also compresses data as it is brought into memory, automatically reducing redundancy in data, and mapping all data to memory-based pointers to minimise the memory footprint of QlikView analysis. The result is that data is typically reduced 10x (10:1 compression) from typical relational stores.

As new data sources become available, the QlikView business intelligence (BI) data integration solution provides the tools to incorporate them simply and easily—no new cube designs or rebuilding from scratch necessary.

Add Value Not Redundancy in ETL

In traditional disk-based BI tools data must be extracted, transformed, and stored in data structures such as cubes prior to being accessible to end users, which can be time consuming. QlikView’s in-memory architecture means that data simply needs to be moved into memory. Because memory is so fast QlikView can aggregate and calculate in real-time – the user simply clicks.
