Australian education providers can now manage and monitor school academic performance themselves more accurately with the latest business intelligence software application, QlikView for Education, from Inside Info.

Following the www.myschool.edu.au website introduced by the Government early this year, which enables access to statistical and contextual information about schools, Inside Info’s QlikView for Education will allow education providers of private and public schools to independently examine their performance and national position using more accurate and less resource intensive measuring systems.

Inside Info has launched QlikView for Education to target providers of education and can deliver business intelligence applications typically in four weeks that aim to equip education providers with a centralised view of operations spanning multiple areas and schools. Inside Info encourages a move away from standard, historical reporting to an approach that provides end users with self-serve analysis of data to transactional level detail that can be used by anyone.

Stuart Barnard, Managing Director, Inside Info said, “School principals and education providers are becoming consumer-like in their demand for access to real-time information and services, which is why we’ve seen education come under the microscope recently. In an education environment where the majority of users are non-technical implementing a simple-to-use BI tool to measure individual internal and external performance becomes critical to equip those running the schools. QlikView for Education now provides management teams in education the necessary answers to drive academic excellence, while freeing up time for more productive learning activities.”

QlivView for Education provides a consolidated internal and external dashboard, allowing point-and-click analysis of enrolments, student lifecycle, regional, and academic performance specific to each provider. This can be matched to financial and other operational performance indicators that can be viewed over any time period, calculated ‘on-the-fly’. These applications are custom-built and based on QlikView business intelligence software that uses patented in-memory association technology, is simple to use and modify and can be deployed in a number of ways including over the web.

Gartner have announced today the 2010 Enterprise Business Intelligence Suites (EBIS) Magic Quadrant’ report, where QlikView has been positioned by Gartner in the Challengers quadrant.

QlikView pioneered in-memory business intelligence and continues to offer a totally different approach to business intelligence that delivers ease of use and rapid deployment that speeds time to critical business answers. Inside Info is the largest and most experienced QlikView business intelligence solution provider in Australia.

Gartner comments on the evolution of business intelligence in the report: “Organisations are rapidly embracing the idea of providing data to end users and empowering them with an ability to navigate and visualize the data in a “surf and save” mode as an alternative to a report-only architecture. Threatened by the success of these vendors (and adding to their credibility), traditional BI platform vendors are attempting to imitate them with easy-to-use interactive visualization alternatives often incorporating in-memory technology. This imitation, coupled with a growing recognition by user organizations that data discovery tools can be used as full-functioned BI platforms for a broader range of BI platform capabilities and use cases (beyond rapid prototyping), justifies the significant move of these vendors from the Visionaries to the Challengers quadrant.”

Inside Info, the Australian business intelligence specialist, announced yesterday strong company growth during 2009, with a 53% revenue increase on 2008, to outstrip growth of the Australian business intelligence software market forecasted at 7.5%* growth according to Gartner.

Inside Info added 30 direct new customers in 2009 bringing its total to over 100 direct clients, including a signficant win as part of a competitive tender with Catholic Education Office Sydney. During 2009, other direct customer additions included QBE, Wrigley Company, CS Energy, Apparel Group, Hagemeyer Brands, Terex Mining and FoodWorks among others.

Manufacturing and distribution sectors remain the largest contributors to revenue in 2009, with high growth rates noted in retail, pharmaceutical and financial services.

“Sales to retailers jumped by 90% this year,” said Stuart Barnard, Managing Director of Inside Info. “We’re helping Australian retailers understand buying behaviour, keeping shelves stacked with the right product at the right price, giving visibility into operations across each store easily. Retailers can have huge volumes of data with many systems to co-ordinate, we can provide transactional level understanding of that data simply using QlikView.”

The ease-of-use of Inside Info’s QlikView applications and knowledge of how to apply business intelligence fast and well, won through with Inside Info deriving the majority of growth from licenses over service revenues. This encuraged company investsment in a sales office in Victoria and a new sales appointment in 2010.

Inside Info’s QlikView applications were also named among Australia’s 41st most innovative products in the Australian Anthill Smart Company Awards.

“Having introduced QlikView in 2003 to become the largest and most experienced QlikView BI provider in Australia, we’re delighted to announce a strong and successful year again,” said Inside Info’s MD, Stuart Barnard. “Analysis of our 2009 performance and market position tells us that upper mid to large organisations still need local, experienced consultants to deliver affordable business intelligence applications that give operational insights and resolve departmental challenges, fast.”

QlikView was recently recognised with the IT Innovation Award in the Best New Technology Category at the Everything Channel’s recent Healthcare IT Summit in the USA. The Summit brought together industry analysts, IT executives from healthcare insurer and provider organizations, and leading vendors for collaborative discussions on pressing issues, best practices and the latest technology that can improve the performance of their organisations.

QlikView is utilised by hundreds of healthcare companies and solution providers worldwide, including Medicalis, whose web-based analytics application allows business and clinical decision makers to improve the quality of diagnostic imaging in the patient care cycle.

“Traditional BI solutions are often too cumbersome, difficult to scale, expensive and slow to deliver value,” said John DeLong, Vice President Product Strategy & Clinical Content, Medicalis. “Leveraging QlikView has enabled us to deliver clinical knowledge in a quick and precise manner so healthcare professionals involved in patient care can make well informed decisions.”

Hundreds of senior IT executives attending the Healthcare Summit completed confidential ballots to select technology providers for the Healthcare IT Innovation Awards after previewing and learning about new technologies and services in private boardroom appointments.

“After years of seeing IT as merely transaction processing and distributing information, CXOs and external influencers now expect IT to be a key differentiator,” said Nancy Hammervik, Senior Vice President, Events, Everything Channel. “We congratulate the winners of the Healthcare IT Innovation awards.”

QlikView software continues to lead in customer satisfaction of business intelligence products based on three independent user-survey reports this year from Business Applications Research Centre, Aberdeen Group and IDC.

“IDC’s research has showed that there is a growing trend in Australia and New Zealand towards businesses giving customer facing employees BI tools to access timely and accurate information, to enhance customer experiences and to develop cross-selling opportunities,” said Louise Francis, Senior Market Analyst – Global Retail Insights, IDC. “As a result IDC expects simple, intuitive applications, such as QlikView, will become increasingly popular with customers, particularly in the mid market.”

An IDC survey sponsored by QlikTech revealed that QlikView customers achieve significantly higher satisfaction with their BI systems than general BI users. When asked to rate their satisfaction on a scale of 1 to 5, 96% of QlikView users indicated the top three levels of satisfaction. This compares very favourably with results from IDC’s 2008 survey (carried out in conjunction with InfoWorld) where 70% of general BI users indicated the top three levels of satisfaction with their BI implementations. The survey found that QlikView is a BI customer favourite because of its average return on investment (ROI) of 186%[1] and a total cost of ownership (TCO) that is 53%[2] of other BI solutions.

QlikView Attains Highest Customer Loyalty Score in Software Industry
IDC found that the significant success QlikView customers are experiencing has resulted in many of them recommending it to others. Net Promoter score is a key measure of customer loyalty based on the question, “How likely is it that you would recommend a product/service to a friend or colleague?” QlikView ranked higher than the previous leader in the 2009 Net Promoter Score benchmark tests in the “Technology: Computer Software” category according to SatMetrix, the creator of the Net Promoter methodology[3].
