"Inside Info turned an extremely manual, complex & inconsistent process into an easy, automated view of sales & marketing performance end-to-end. Meshing external data, with internal telephony, CRM and data warehouse systems. It took 3 weeks, was great value and can be easily updated."

12 Dec 07 - Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG selects QlikView for Global Rollout

QlikTech announced today that Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), the world's leading solution provider for commercial and industrial customers in the print media industry, will expand its use of QlikView software as its strategic analysis tool for operations worldwide.

Heidelberg is active within the major OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development) industrial regions and is expanding into emerging markets in Asia and Eastern Europe. With development and production sites in six countries and 250 sales offices worldwide, the company offers services to more than 200,000 customers.

QlikTech is leading a new class of easy to use, fast and flexible business analysis solutions. Its award-winning flagship product, QlikView 8, is built on patented, next-generation in-memory association technology, which enables powerful, visual reporting and analysis. While traditional, OLAP-based BI deployments take an average of 17 months to deploy, QlikView solutions can be implemented in days and users trained within days, quickly giving people the freedom to be more accurate and creative in analysis.

Heidelberg has been using QlikView since 2006 for sales performance analyses, availability and utilisation of service technicians in its sales department, and in its IT department for controlling, Anti-Virus reporting, IT asset management, help desk and ITIL change management reporting. Its experience with QlikView’s fast deployment and ease-of-use, paired with high performance on large data volumes, convinced Heidelberg to implement QlikView across the entire enterprise in order to better synthesize SAP® and other data sources for seamless, visual reporting.

“QlikView has given us more refined information that has improved our company’s performance. In the past 15 months with QlikView, we were able to gain a better overview of our SAP data, and significantly reduce the effort in producing reports," explains Michael Neff, Chief Information Officer of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG. “The improvements we’ve seen showed us that a BI solution does not have to be big and complex to be a strategic analysis tool -- it's performance that counts. With QlikView, we can roll out new applications quickly so that employees throughout the company can easily do the analyses they need for their daily work."

The global rollout of QlikView will start in the sales, service and production departments. About 8,000 sales employees will use QlikView as a visual sales “cockpit” for flexible customer analysis. In the production department, where 6, 000 employees will use QlikView, project managers will better coordinate the different departments that are involved in the production of a printing machine, as well as manage and control the purchasing and manufacturing of more than 200,000 parts that are required to build one machine.

“Heidelberg is a company known for innovation, with complex manufacturing processes,” said Lars Björk, CEO of QlikTech. “We are delighted that Heidelberg has chosen to rely on QlikView to improve the quality of its information and analysis with better insight into its operations across the enterprise. This success proves our company philosophy of 'simplifying analysis for everyone.'”
